About this Event
As the church marks the World Day of the Sick on February 11, we encourage everyone to pray for those who suffer from illness and for their caregivers. The theme of this year’s 30th World Day of the Sick, “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful” (Lk 6:36), makes us first turn our gaze towards God, who is “rich in mercy” (Eph 2:4). Archbishop Miller will celebrate a live streamed Mass for World Day of the Sick on Friday, February 11 at noon.On this day, all are invited to:
- Read Pope Francis’s full message for the World Day of the Sick
- Take the time to pray for the sick and for those who work hard to alleviate the sufferings of the sick
- Mark this day by providing the sick with loving care through friendship
Let’s pray with Pope Francis…
Dear brothers and sisters, to the intercession of Mary, Health of the Infirm, I entrust all the sick and their families. United with Christ, who bears the pain of the world, may they find meaning, consolation and trust. I pray for healthcare workers everywhere, that, rich in mercy, they may offer patients, together with suitable care, their fraternal closeness.
