About this Event
Who does not on occasion feel that our modern life is divided? Work takes up a great portion of our waking hours but it dins into us the stifling refrain, "Stay productive!" At home, we long for the sharing of affection and mutual understanding but so often we isolate ourselves and zone out because we have to unwind. Are we meant to be divided in this way? Or is it possible to integrate labour and leisure in a unity of life that fulfills our humanity and raises us to the divine peace and love within the Blessed Trinity?
These are the deep questions which Dr. Michael J. Naughton will stir up and address with the joyful light of the Gospel and of the Church's social teaching:
-
Morning Talk (10:00 a.m. – 11:40 a.m.)
Getting Work Right: The Integration of the Contemplative and Active Life
-
Afternoon Talk (1:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.)
Good Work: Building and Nurturing a Culture of Subsidiarity
Admission is free and open to the general public. Holy Mass will be offered prior to the talks at 9:00 a.m. in the Minor Seminary chapel. Come and join the seminarians of the Seminary of Christ the King and the monks of Westminster Abbey as we reflect on these timely and timeless questions of life!
