About this Event
Thank you for your interest in the 2024 Red Mass Dinner. Online registration is now closed. To inquire if seats are still available, please call (604) 683-0281 and ask to be connected to the Chancery Office.
The Red Mass is a Mass celebrated in honour of the legal profession as a vocation in the service of justice and the common good. It is one of the traditions through which the Church has blessed and strengthened the legal profession. The grace given to the members of the legal profession by God and the teachings of the Catholic Church help guide us towards the goals of fairness and justice. All are welcomed and invited to the Mass at Holy Rosary Cathedral. Registration is required for the dinner.
The St. Thomas More Guild is very pleased to announce Father Paul Scalia as the keynote speaker at this year's Red Mass. Father Paul is a priest of the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, where he currently serves as Episcopal Vicar for Clergy and Pastor of Saint James Parish in Falls Church. He studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University and the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome. He has written for various publications and is a frequent speaker on matters of faith and doctrine. Father Scalia is the author of That Nothing May Be Lost: Reflections on Catholic Doctrine and Devotion (Ignatius Press, 2017) and editor of Sermons in Times of Crisis: Twelve Homilies to Stir Your Soul (Saint Benedict Press, 2019).
The STM Guild has applied for CPD credit for this dinner (typically 1.0 hour of ethics credit – as we have with all our past events) – and will update once CPD credit is confirmed by the Law Society.
