How do you plan and implement an LWC? This hands-on course offers practical, step-by-step training that equips participants in leading or assisting in the Liturgy of the Word with Children (LWC). 

Topics include:

• Introducing the Liturgy to Children
• Guidelines in conducting LWC
• Preparing oneself and the LWC environment
• Crafting homilies for children
• Resources for LWC
• Most importantly, “How to Listen to God with children?”

This course is a must for novice presiders or readers and other team members.

About the Facilitator
Murita Chua is the Coordinator for all Children’s Ministries (PREP, LWC and CGS) in the Archdiocese of Vancouver. She started her journey as a volunteer LWC catechist 26 years ago when her children were very young. She experienced how LWC evolved over the years and developed an effective method that integrates CGS in LWC. Murita has a Master’s degree in Religious Education (MRE), is a workshop presenter, mentor, catechist and archdiocesan consultant who has been training catechists for 20 years. She is a recognized formation facilitator for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Level 1 (ages 3-6 years old), an apprentice for CGS Level 2 (6-9 years old), and is an expert in the application of CGS in LWC.
