About this Event

Join us for an exploratory conversation with:

  • Most Reverend Michael Miller, CSB, Archbishop of Vancouver
  • Sr. Elizabeth Davis, RSM, Sisters of Mercy, Newfoundland
  • Ms. Catherine Clifford, Theologian, St. Paul University, Ottawa

The Catholic Church’s synodal process has already undergone diocesan, national, and continental stages. It will culminate in two global assemblies (October 2023 and October 2024) at the Vatican to advise the pope on the topic, For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission. The October 2023 session is being carried out in a synodal style ensuring a continuing fruitful process of discernment to be completed in next year’s session. Proposals on how we can grow as a synodal Church will then be presented to the Holy Father.

This virtual conversation will provide an opportunity to learn from Canadian participants: an archbishop, a religious sister, and a lay woman. They will describe their experiences as voting delegates in the synodal process at the Vatican and offer ways for us all to stay informed and engaged.
